Say hello to Freckle's two rams, born early this morning, February 3rd 2018. They are both very healthy and began nursing minutes after they arrived at Bear Valley Farm. Their names are "Willy" and "Wonka"

On February 2nd 2018 Limpy gave birth to triplets (two females and one male). We named the daughters "Weezy" & "Woozy". The ram is named "Punxutawney" in honor of Ground Hog Day.
On Saturday morning, January 27th, Smooth gave birth to two beautiful female lambs. The first lamb to be born, Twinkie, got stuck and we had to help deliver her. Hoho came forth with no problems at all. Both are healthy and strong. Three down, many more to go.
Early this morning December gave birth to a healthy ram. We name him "Moose". Mother and baby and doing just fine. Here's the first pic:
The lambs will be here very soon, and the mamas are getting huge, especially Smooth. We're thinking she'll be the first to give birth. But you never know.
Autumn is over and the winter season has arrived. Happy to report that all is well on the farm. The sheep are in full wool now and very fuzzy. That goes double for Daryl the Donkey. I don't know if his winter coat is any indication of a harsh winter to come, but that is one furry donkey. The goats remain playful as ever. And Bruce the Cat continues to love Sharon more than me (Farmer Tom). Anyhow, here's a recent pic of the first snow (which was just a dusting).
Poor Eleanor. We found her yesterday lying on her side in the chicken run. At more than 5 years old she has reached the end of her life cycle. We took her in for her last few days and made sure she got water and food and a warm place to bed down. We will miss her. She was one of our favorites.
Say hello to the newest addition of the Aviation Fleet at Bear Valley Farm. This is a PT-17 Stearman, the full scale version of which was used as a trainer in WWII. The plane flies beautifully. I've always wanted to get a bi-plane. This one has been a hoot.
The Fall colors have not been vibrant this year due to the dry weather as of late. But the sunsets have been spectacular!
