Lizzy gave birth this morning to two handsome healthy rams. We named them Barry & Benny. Here are the very first pics, approximately 1/2 hour after birth. Mama and rams and doing fine. We watched Barry nurse already, but Benny is a little slow in coming around. We'll check back on them once in a while today to make sure both rams are feeding well and that Mama has plenty of milk. Welcome Barry and Benny to Bear Valley Farm!

DeeDee went outside for the first time this morning. That is one cute little lamb. She's been exploring her new world and has no fear of all the big sheep surrounding her. December keeps a close watch on her, but even she seems calm about letting DeeDee frolic and run.
Lambing 2017 has begun! Say hello to our first baby sheep, a female born to December. We named her "DeeDee" and she is adorable. When we came into the barn this morning around 5am, she was already several hours old, strong and lively. She took to nursing right away. So glad to see a healthy lamb, given the heartache of last November. Mama and youngin' are doing fine.
Hello All, we are really getting excited once again at Bear Valley Farm. The new lambs will be here in just a short while. While the weather has been exceptionally mild as of late, here is a picture of Farmer Tom and Sharon early in the month when the temperature was 500 degrees below zero... And here are our mothers to be, except of course for Teardrop (who had her two lambs in October and of course Grandma and Babysheep, who lost their lambs in November--still aching over the loss) Anyhoo, the mamas are starting to "bag out" as we say in the sheepin' business. Udders are starting to fill with milk. Soon we will say hello to new baby lambs.
