Grandma stopped eating and drinking a few days ago and she is getting weak. We're doing all we can for her--giving her fluids, B12, electrolytes, and trying to support her systems as best we can. Pray for her.

Winter came early to the Bear Valley this year, but the sheep still can reach the pasture grass out in the hayfield.
Today we had to say farewell to two very special rams, Smokey and Willy. They are the last of this year's lambs, and it was very hard to say goodbye. I spent some extended time with them before we loaded them on the trailer.
Today we introduced six new chickens to the coop. Sharon wanted more brown egg layers so that's what we got. We expect it will take several days for the newcomers to find their place in the flock. A new pecking order will have to be established. So far, the fighting has been minimal.
We had our first snowfall this morning. Wow, winter is upon us already. We have just a few more days with Willie and Smokey. I'm glad they got to experience snow.
Hooray! We found Oreo a home today in Raymond, WI. We are so excited. He will be added to a small flock of mixed breed sheep. When Oreo arrived at the buyer's farm he was very excited to see the new sheep. When we lowered the trailer ramp, he bolted out and ran to them with glee. I'm so glad for our handsome ram. Have a great life being a sheep, Oreo!
All our farm animals love pumpkin snacks. When we threw them over the fence, the sheep and goats came a running. Even Daryl gave the pumpkins a sniff or two.
