ABOUT US
We dreamed for many years of owning a little farm where we could raise some animals and enjoy country living at its best. That dream came true in the Spring of 2012. We affectionately call home Bear Valley Farm, which is literally situated in a valley. On 20 acres of rolling pasture, the high ground tree-lined perimeter slopes down on all sides toward Chester Lake, our very own 3-acre pond filled with prize game fish. Bear is our dog, a fine Australian Shepherd Labrador Retriever, who considers this property his own personal kingdom. So naturally we had to include his name. Bear is lovable and friendly, but he's also a watch-dog through and through. Our single story ranch home sits atop the northwest hill among mature oak, hickory, and maple trees. The barnyard rests on the south end surrounded by four fenced-in paddocks to feed our flocks. Guarding our sheep is a noble donkey named Daryl. He loves people but coyotes beware. Daryl will not tolerate predators. We also house some two dozen chickens in the luxurious Chick Inn. Tommyhawk, our cantankerous rooster, will greet you with a hearty crow. The sheep are friendly and will regard visitors with interest, especially if you have some treats to share. Our three goats (Barney, Daisy & Gary) love attention and will demand it from anyone who stops by. Our favorite barn cat, Bruce, has now made his permanent residence in our home. But new barn cats (Mute & Bootsie) carry on the job of keeping the barn free of mice.
Now to business and the primary purpose for this website:
If you are in the market for farm fresh eggs laid by happy grain-fed free range chickens, if you would like to purchase high quality wool, if you want market lambs, freezer lambs, or breeding stock of pure-bred Polypay Sheep, contact us right now. Don't delay! We look forward to doing business with you.
Sorry, the donkey and goats are not for sale--they are beloved pets.
