Autumn is my favorite time of year on the farm. The colors came a little late, but as you can see, the maples look spectacular.

Smokey, Willie & Oreo are the last three rams left. They all get along very well and seem to have lots of fun exploring. We sure do enjoy watching them play. Here they are just after they were chasing each other around the cottonwood tree...
Hooray, Wonka has found a home in Union Grove, WI. He will be added to a flock of thirty sheep. Wonka will get to live out his days being a happy sheep. And Fabio's legacy continues to grow. We will miss our brave little lamb and we are sad to see him go. But we are also happy for him. Have a great life, Wonka, our handsome ram.
Market day has come and with reluctant hearts we bid a fond farewell to three of our handsome rams. Goodbye Zagnut, Keebler and Moose. It was a joy raising you. You were all wonderful sheep. Now you will fulfill your noble purpose.
We have just a few more days before some of our ram lambs go to market. We are sad to see them go, but they are fulfilling a noble purpose.
Introducing the newest addition to the RC fleet--the UMX Timber. This is what they call a micro-flyer. Very small but a fully functional aircraft with ailerons, elevater, rudder and even flaps. It's considered a STOL airplane (Short Take Off & Landing). It also has nav lights, rotating beacon, and strobe landing lights. Very cool. I absolutely love this little plane and it flies exceptionally well. Small enough to fly in tight places, I've even wrung her out in front of the house.
This was the last straw. Gigi had another litter of kittens, six in all. We found them tucked away under the stock tank in the ewe's pen. We already have too many cats from her last batch. Upon discovering the new brood, we quickly took the opportunity to put the new kittens in a crate. Gigi, of course, did not hesitate to climb into the crate to be with her young. We closed the door and everyone was safely captured. A short car ride to Safe Harbor in Kenosha and our cat problem is no more. The people assured us at the shelter that they will have no trouble adopting out these kittens once they were weaned. They were also confident that Gigi will grow tame in time to be adopted out as well. All's well that ends well. Goodbye Gigi and little kitties.
The long wait is over. The time has come today for Fabio to join the ewes for some extracurricluar activity. Breeding has begun. And we're sure that our ram will once again do his job--a job he thoroughly enjoys, by the way.
Bruce is doing very well. He is healing quickly and has taken possession of the house. He loves to explore and climb on things. Here he is on my desk.
We said a fond farewell to Sofie and the other ewe lambs yesterday. They are all going to a farm in Ohio to live out their days as new mamas. The new owners are very nice and want to start a flock again now that their children are grown. We wish them well and are so glad to have found a good home for our beloved sheep. Goodbye Twinkie, Hoho, Woozy, Squeasy, Sandie, and Snowball. Goodbye Sofie, I'll miss you most of all.
