Beautiful day yesterday. Had to try to see if any of the fish were biting in Chester Lake. Sure enough, our first fish of 2015 was caught just off the culvert by our bridge. Nice bigmouth bass. Lost the lure a few minutes later to a monster fish by the mouth of the creek. It never showed itself and nearly took the rod and reel out of my hands. It bit through the line after 10 seconds of vigorous fight. No idea what it was, but I'm thinking either Bowfin or Northern Pike. So no picture of the big one that got away, but the adrenaline rush made up for it.
